Designing conventional PV regulator is fun and beneficial. You don't have to buy ready-made products that might hurt your pocket. Beside of cost, spare parts availability and maintenance are also a problem which are mostly dependent with the supplier or the manufacturer. I have made some trials with small PVs (3 x 50W) and it works. I will be attaching step by step demo in this site soon.

I will also design larger PV regulator and inverter for 1KW installed capacitor. It is important that we understand aspects in solar PV as low efficient and expensive power source. The only thing that might compensate with these advantages is our ability to build, maintain and repair which is not that hard to do.
